‘Vibrant and alive’ Fiddlers alight at Potash Hill

October 28, 2023

Boston States Fiddle Camp brought the very best in Scottish and Cape Breton music and instruction to Potash Hill this month. The event “was a rousing success,” said Potash Hill Managing Director Brian Mooney in an informative feature article on Boston States in today’s Brattleboro Reformer.

Entitled ‘Vibrant and alive’ Fiddlers alight at Potash Hill’, Bob Audette’s front-page piece features some wonderful quotes from the Boston States’ musicians. “(Potash Hill) is gorgeous,” said violinist Sam Leibowitz of Paoli, PA. “The practice facilities and performance spaces are amazing. As soon as you walk into a practice room, the acoustics are beautiful and you have room to spread out.”

“The studio where we had our classes was gorgeous,” said fiddler Sara Perle of Brooklyn, NY. “One of the most beautiful spaces I’ve had the privilege to take a class.”

“To have folk music in a facility like this, that usually only elevates classical music, it gives what we are doing authority and respect,” said Boston States Artistic Director Katie McNally.

During Boston States, “Potash Hill was brimming with music, camaraderie, and excellent food,” said Mooney. “We look forward to their return.”
