Professional musicians embark on a journey of renewal and discovery at this musical retreat led by cellist/composer Eugene Friesen and jazz great/author Kenny Werner.

Joy in Your Practice took place on Potash Hill from May 6 through 9, 2024. The program is tailored for professional musicians seeking to reinvigorate and reinvent their personal practice. The retreat is limited to 25 participants and designed to foster intimate group settings, personal reflection, and transformative experiences.

Eugene Friesen is a Grammy Award-winning recording and concert artist and has served on the faculty of the Berklee College of Music since 1999. He has been Artist-in-Residence at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City and is the author of “Improvisation for Classical Musicians” (Berklee Press/Hal Leonard, 2012). Kenny Werner is an American jazz pianist, composer, and author renowned for his groundbreaking philosophy of “Effortless Mastery” in music. With a career spanning several decades, he has established himself as a leading figure in the world of jazz, earning acclaim for his innovative approach to improvisation and composition.
